Scott TuckerScott Tucker
Scott is originally from Charleston, SC, and played tennis on scholarship at Erskine College. He is a USPTR-certified professional and worked at the Sportsclub in Greenville, SC, as the Director of Tennis for ten years. He is also the Director of Tennis at Cabarrus Country Club in Concord, NC. He enjoys helping people enjoy this wonderful lifetime sport!

Julie MudgeJulie Mudge
Coach Julie grew up as a “Navy brat”, born in Japan and moving every few years. She played multiple sports through high school and college at UNC Chapel Hill. Julie worked as a physical education teacher at the Community School of Davidson and has been a tennis teaching professional for the past 10 years. She trained under Randy Pate and has extensive experience in state, sectional, and national level tournaments. Julie has coached several USTA league teams from Quickstart to adult, as well as middle and high school level teams.

Lori LittleLori Little
Coach Lori is from Statesville, NC, where she started playing tennis at the age of 10 and played in the Jr. USTA for eight years. She played high school tennis at North Iredell High School and college tennis at Wingate University, where her senior year’s team won their conference, going on to play in the NCAA finals in Oklahoma. Lori was inducted into the Wingate University Sports Hall Of Fame for Tennis in 2009.

Juan Carlos ValekJuan Carlos Valek
Juan Carlos is a native of Colombia, South America who is a USPTR certified professional and Racket Stringer Certified. Since moving to the USA 25 years ago he has been teaching/coaching as a high school head coach, as well as a private and group instructor. He has also been a competitive men’s and women’s league coach, and was the founder and owner of the Valek Sports Academy in Zionsville, Indiana. He has extensive training experience with players at all levels from beginners to advanced. Juan makes a strong emphasis on mastering proper fundamentals, discipline and work ethic. He motivates players to succeed on and off the tennis courts, while teaching in a fun, relaxed and positive environment.

BenBen McQuaid
Ben is originally from Cary, NC and has been playing tennis for 15 years. Growing up playing USTA Juniors, at his peak he cracked the NC Top 15 and went on to play NCAA DII tennis at Belmont Abbey College where he was a scholarship athlete. Ben has been instructing juniors for five years as both a private and group coach with strengths in advanced point planning, strategy, and mental and physical toughness.
